Who is Abhishek Kumar Chaurasiya?
Abhishek Kumar Chaurasiya (pronounced [ə.bʰiː.ʂæː.k kuː.mɑː.r tʃɔː.r.siː.jɑː]; born Deepak
Chaurasiya; 03 June 1997) is a structural engineer who graduated from IIT
Bombay in the year 2022, best known for his work in performance assessment and
retrofit of torsional irregular structures under the guidance of Prof. Meera
Raghunandan at IIT Bombay. He also worked with Prof. Prashant Sunagar in his
undergraduate days for studying and developing an analytical model of particle
tuned mass damper.
Abhishek was born in 1997 in Jeetpur to Sunil Prasad Chaurasiya and Rita Devi Chaurasiya. Most of his schooling happened at Kathmandu Xavier's Public School and Goldengate International College in Kathmandu, Nepal. He spent most of his initial days in Kathmandu, frequently travelling to various parts of India. He was influenced by the work of Fazlur Rahman Khan during his initial days, inclining him to serve noble field of structural engineering. Though, his initial schooling days were not bright, he started working on skills which would help him excel in his career during his high school days.
After performing above par during his higher secondary education, he was nominated for a prestigious scholarship by the Government of India to pursue civil engineering at MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (now Ramaiah Institute of Technology), Bangalore, India. His academic achievements was continuously exceptional while being at MSRIT, making him stand Top 2% in the class. He was conferred with Gold Medal among students in civil engineering department after his graduation. In addition to this, he also received Best Achiever Award, Best Student Award, Best Project Award and an award to respect his punctuality throughout the course.
While being at MSRIT, he started a fintech blog startupbuzz which performed better in its initial days. The startupbuzz project could not continue for a long time citing his academic commitments. In addition to structural engineering, he has interests in finance and world economy. He has continuously learnt major financial skills since his childhood, putting him in a position capable of sharing his constructive criticism in this field. His financial interests pushed him to work in a new project sharezanepal while being a student at IIT Bombay. He was involved in developing the major part of the project which included web development to its management. Currently, the project is run by his brother Rahul, while Abhishek has limited himself from managing sharezanepal.
He is currently working as an Engineer at Ministry of Urban Development, Government of Nepal. He was involved with Spectrum Techno Consultants in Mumbai as a trainee structural engineer before he joined the engineering services in Nepal.
